When a Picasso is Only Worth $60 — The Nuts and Bolts of Cargo Loss Claims
A new 3-Hour CE Course Presented by Kristi Dean, Esq. & Gregg Garfinkel, Esq.
The works of Pablo Picasso are most often valued in millions of dollars, with his most expensive work being sold for $180 Million. But what happens when one gets damaged in the middle of transportation? — Who’s to blame, and how much will they have to pay? Kristi Dean & Gregg Garfinkel will tell you just that, in the presentation of the When a Picasso is Only Worth $60 – The Nuts and Bolts of Cargo Loss Claims.
Understanding Cargo Loss Claims is crucial for the insurance professional — and just like in the case of the $60 Picasso — can protect oneself from potentially costly Cargo Loss, limit liability, and save you money. Kristi & Gregg, along with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Orange County (IIAB-OC), will be presenting this 3-Hour Continuing Education Course at Tustin Centre and as an online Webinar on November 10, 2016 from 9AM-12PM.
Kristi & Gregg will be instructing the insurance professional on a myriad of laws, rules and regulations applicable to cargo loss and damage claims. It will educate attendees on what laws govern the interstate/intrastate transportation of household goods and other commodities as well as provide them with an overview of warehouse liability issues. Furthermore, it will apprise all in attendance of the key contractual and statutory defenses that exist to cargo claims. We will also address “Hot Topics” and recurrent themes in transportation claims, with an emphasis on frequent mistakes made with respect to subrogation demands.
